MTN-Uganda is the leading telecommunications Company in Uganda, providing
payphone, fixed lines, fax/data, internet and mobile services. MTN is an equal
opportunity employer and is seeking to recruit a competent individual to fill the
vacant Position of Accountant - Mobile Money.
The position reports to the Treasury Manager.
The main purpose of the job is: -
Reconciliation and liquidation of MTN Mobile Money revenues.
Review of all agent commission payments (subscriber registration, zero rate
commission, airtime residual commission, DST payments).
Supervision of Mobile Money finance back office team/ staff, and implementation
of recommended mobile money control.
Prime responsibilities of the position:
Review daily bank reconciliation and recommend immediate corrective action.
Review of daily journal captured to ensure they are properly accounted for and
authorised.
Review of daily super-agent line to ensure all transfers to service centres are
authorised.
Ensure that all incidences logged for Mobile Money Finance action are resolved
within 48 hours.
Ensure that MTN airtime and transaction revenues are liquidated timely.
Ensure that agent commissions are reconciled, reviewed and paid within agreed
timelines.
Ensure end to end follow up on all reconciling items in Mobile Money bank
reconciliation.
Supervision of Mobile Money Finance back office staff.
Authorization of all mobile money Journal in the Fundamo system.
Ensure mobile money Finance Audit recommendations are followed up and
objectively closed.
Mobile Money Business cases review and update product risks.
The applicant must possess the following;
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce or equivalent
combination of applicable education and experience required.
Possession of professional courses like ACCA, CPA and CIMA is most
desirable.
3 years’ experience as an accountant.
Knowledge of process and financial control.
Telecommunications knowledge.
Compliance with regulatory requirements.
Risk management and control improvement within a telecom product and
infrastructure environment.
