In partnership with Embassy of Ireland, Doctors with Africa CUAMM is starting a health intervention in Karamoja titled: "Strengthening district health systems for improved access to and utilisation of quality RMNCAH services in Karamoja (2021 - 2023)." This intervention will scale up and/ or complement ongoing efforts in strengthening district health systems.
The project has the following outputs:
1. Improved capacity of DHMT for data driven, evidence-based analysis, prioritization, planning and monitoring of RMNCAH and HIV integrated services;
2. Improved capacity for collection, storage, distribution and use of safe blood and blood components in the promotion of MNCH;
3. Improved functionality of neonatal care units in three hospitals:
4. Improved health provider clinical competence and skills in delivering RMNCAH, GBV and HIV integrated services;
5. Improved adolescent health interventions including uptake of modern contraceptive among sexually active adolescent and prevention of teenage pregnancies;
6. Improved community based care and bi-directional community facility linkages for integrated RMNCAH and HIV services.
1. Programme Manager/RMNCH/HIV Specialist (1 position based in Moroto)
Function:
Supervising the work of the district teams (technically and administratively), ensure appropriate activity planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. S/he will be part of the senior management at the regional office and will collaborate with the regional team of experts. Job requirements: Medical/Health degree; with MPH or MMED Obs/Gyn with programming experience in RMNCAH/HIV. Or master degree in international health or health services management or equivalents. Experience in district health management, programming for health projects and knowledge of the current Uganda health policies and strategies and structures. Demonstrated ability write and communicate clearly and train junior staff, demonstrated skills in quantitative methods. Should have proficiency in computer usage (common office applications) and should demonstrate good understanding of HMIS, DHIS2 and MTrac reporting.
