Job details:
In 1995, Epicentre created a permanent research ‘center in Uganda to support MSF projects ln the region. The primary role of Epicentre in Mbarara is to conduct clinical research following Good Clinical Practice (GCP) requirements on critical public health burdens in Uganda and Africa. To reach this objective, Epicentre collaborates closely with the Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST). A full-time experienced research team is based at the Epicentre Mbarara Research Center.

The Mbarara research center is located in Mbarara Municipality, 300 km South-West to Kampala. The main health facility is Mbarara National Referral Hospital which is also a teaching hospital for the MUST. This is the referral hospital for the Western region of Uganda with a capacity of 240 beds, The research center is structured into several departments: administration, logistics, laboratory, data management.

4 Study Nurse
Location: Epicentre Mbarara Research Centre in (EMRC),Uganda
Reports to: The Nurse Supervisor and the Principal investigator (Pl) of the study.
Duration; 1 year, renewable

General responsibilities (not exhaustive)

• To participate in the informed consent process
• Conduct counselling for voluntary HIV testing on participants enrolled onto the study.
• Administer investigational Product following study protocol and Standard Operating Procedures and observe participants after administration of investigational Product.
• Complete case report forms and other study documents following study Standard Operating Procedures.
• Perform drug accountability as well as drug requisition and inform the person in charge of the main pharmacy.
•  Ensure the cleanliness of her/his working station and equipment.
• Any other tasks as required by the Pl and the MSF/ Epicentre Director.

Requirements:

•  Diploma in Nursing, certificate in counseling will be an added advantage
• Previous experience working with HIV patients
• Previous experience in clinical research preferred
• Fluent in English and Runyankore, spoken and written
