Job details:
The Provincial Secretariat of the Church of Uganda (COU) seeks to recruit suitable qualified dynamic and competent persons for the positions below. These positions require individuals with at least 10 years relevant work experience in the respective sector and with at least 5 years at managerial level, high level of integrity, team players, practicing & committed to the values and faith of CoU, ability to work in a fast—paced & large organization. The following skills are very essential: strategic planning skills, excellent interpersonal and English communication skills (oral & written), strong leadership/management and supervisory skills, computer literacy, financial and innovative skills.

Job Title: Director Education Service
Reports to: Provincial Secretary

Job purpose:

• Responsible for strategic plannin development and implementation education programmes in CoU.
• Coordinate education services in Province, network and support improve education delivery
• Ensure the mission and interests of the Church in Education in her tounde Education institutions are met
• Enhance theological education ministerial formation in CoU
• Play an advisory role to the Diocesan Education Coordinators and Heads of CoU Education institutions.

Key roles and responsibilities:

• Strategic planning / guidance and policy development / implementation of the Education sector
• Manage educational programs in CoU
•  Partnership(s) building, networking advocacy
• Ensure proper financial management for education sector
•  Human Resource development in CoU Regularly remind the Church of its roles and obligation in education as well as keeping her updated on educational developments in the country
• Child support: Solicit scholarships and ensure equitable distribution across the province .
•  Be the secretary to the Provincial Education Board and Commissions
• Other related duties as maybe assigned from time to time

Desired person qualifications and experience:
Qualifications:

• At least a Master’s in Education, Planning and Management! Human Resource or Theology
•  B. Education / BA Education / Bsc Education, Bachelor of Theology or Education Planning and any other relevant qualification with a PGD in education

Experience

• Experience in curriculum development
• Experience in teaching, training and educational planning
• Strong facilitation and group leadership skills
• Experience working with the youth, schools, business, elected and government officials, interfaith, and/or community groups
• Experience in development and imparting of knowledge and skills to others
• Budget development and monitoring skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks

Employment terms for position:
All employment is on three years contract, renewable dependent on performance Duty Station: Provincial Secretariat - Willis Road, Namirembe, Kampala
