Hardware and Storage Engineer

Location: Kampala, Uganda mobilized to Albert Lake, operating sites or other cities if required.

Primary function: Support CUL Data Center System Hardware, Software, Storage, Power and Cooling Resources

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing CUL Data Center Maintenance Activities
• Ensure optimal operation and health of Data Center Power and Cooling Equipment
• CUL Data Center Server Equipment Operation and Maintenance
• CUL Data Center Storage Systems Operation and Maintenance
• Server and Storage Provisioning
• Server and Storage Administration
•  Data Backup, Replication, Restoration and Management
• Vendor Management to ensure delivery of services
•  IT Project Management
• Server Operating System Deployment, Administration
• CUL Applications and Systems Support
• Other duties assigned by leaders

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or above in informatics, computer science or the related
•  Minimum 4 years related working experience

Knowledge:

•  Good knowledge in Windows & Linux systems administration
• Good knowledge of Storage Systems, DAS, NAS, Fiber Channel, SAN
• Experience with managing Data Center Network Infrastructure
• Microsoft Active Directory
• Good knowledge of Database Administration and Disaster Recovery planning
• Understanding of Cooling and Power requirements
•  IBM/EMC/NETAPP Infrastructure knowledge
