A Brief on the Company
Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Ltd( UETCL ) is responsible for bulk purchase of electricity from the generating companies and selling the electricity in bulk to the distribution companies throughout Uganda. UETCL is also responsible for all exports and imports of electricity to Uganda.

UETCL seeks suitably qualified Ugandans to immediately fill vacancy of:

Manager, Operations and Maintenance

The position at the Company Head Office reports to the
Managing Director/CEO.

Purpose
The primary purpose of the position is to operate and maintain the Transmission Grid Assets and Load Dispatch facilities in a safe manner in accordance with international prudent utility practices.

KEY RESULT AREAS

• Energy Dispatch, System Data Acquisition, System Control and Monitoring.
• System Operations and Maintenance of:
  1. Substation Assets
  2. Transmission Lines
  3. SCADA System Hardware and Software
• power System Protection and Energy Metering at Grid
• Supply Interconnection Points.
• Transmission System Re-investments.
• Carry out any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

THE PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
The desired person should have the following essential requirements:

• A University Degree in Electrical Engineering. Master’s Degree or Post Graduate Qualification in related field shall be an added advantage.
• Professional registration with relevant body.
• At least 5 years’ experience at a management level in a reputable organization.
• 10 years‘ experience in power system control, protection and maintenance activities.
•  Not below 35 years of age.
• Familiarity with the electricity sector is added advantage.
• A person of high integrity and is motivated, innovative and result oriented and a committed team player.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT AND REMUNERATION
For each position outlined above:

• Appointment is on a five (5) year contract renewable based on performance.
• Attractive remuneration package that is competitive.
