The Aga Khan University (AKU) is a private , not-for-profit , international University first established in 1983, with 11 campuses and teaching sites in 8 countries. The University is a non-denominational institution open to all, irrespective of religion, ethnicity, gender or national origin. Since 2001, AKU has offered academic programmes in nursing, medicine and education for and in countries within East Africa. The University invites applications for the following position :

Senior Faculty

Reporting to the Academic Head, the incumbent will primarily be involved in teaching, research and practice in our programmes. She /he will also be expected to serve in the University's academic committees and participate in multi-disciplinary activities . In addition , they will be responsible for quality assurance , curriculum development and be actively involved in contributing to the nursing profession nationally, regionally and internationally.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Applicants should possess a Masters of5cience degree in nursing
•  A PhD in nursing or a related field will be an added advantage
• He/ she should be currently registered with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council
• Minimum of3 years of classroom and clinical teaching experience at an institution of higher learning, demonstrate expertise in modern pedagogy and scholarship of learning , cornmittmcnt to research and publication, and the ability to mentor junior faculty members
