ACODEV is a regional NGO that was founded in 2003 and runs integrated Community Development Programs in Public Health, Human Rights, OVC support, Livelihood and Grassroots Capacity Development programs including sub-granting for small grassroots organizations in East and now Southern Africa region.

With funding from USAID, ACODEV, in partnership with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) as the Prime, is implementing a S-year consortium Program: Sustainable Outcomes for Children and Youth (SOCY). The Program is designed to improve the health, nutrition, education and psychosocial wellbeing of orphaned and vulnerable children, as well as reduce abuse, exploitation and neglect among this population. It is expected to reach a minimum of 625,000 children and their caregivers within 101,500 households in 19 districts in central, south western and western Uganda. The program will improve outcomes for vulnerable children and youth by strengthening the systems that surround them; caregivers will have greater economic opportunities, which will increase their resilience and make them less susceptible to shocks; local government structures and C505 will be strengthened to provide services targeting the diverse needs of vulnerable children, and health and social service agencies will strengthen their coordination and referral systems to provide integrated care along the continuum of response.

SILC and Youth group formation are the key vehicles used to support the beneficiary groups. It is anticipated that for every household enrolled will have a minimum of one youth, making, approximately 100,000 Youth. 80% of these are expected to participate in SOCY Project activities. ACODEV provides Technical Assistance (TA) to the programs operations of consortium C505. It is against this background that ACODEV is looking for suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacancies below, to carryout vertical project activities, in the districts of: Central Region: Wakiso, Luwero & Hoima; Western Region: Kyenjojo, Kibaale, Sheema & Mitooma.

Key Roles and lob Requirements
Responsible for overall supervision, Coaching and Mentoring of Paraasocial Workers for effective OVC household's identification / assessment and enrollment into the SOCY Project and helping OVC Households to develop Hoiiseliold improvement Plans (HlPs). The Social Worker will ensure supervision and maintenance of an vlfuctivu relerrals & linkages system, as a core part in Management processes, thereby ensure proper dorumnniation of beneficiaries reached to access cores services.

The Social Worker will supervises Para-social Workers to effectively perform assigned tasks in respective Sub-counties such as: home visits, referrals, case follow-ups and ensure completion ul relerrals. The Social Worker will work in liaison with the Community Development Officer (CDO), DPC and other relevant stakeholders to organize Sub-county-level Integrated Case Conferencing Sessions, as well as mobilizing coordinating monthly meetings with Para-social Workers; Producing timely and informative project periodic activity reports.

Job Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Social Work BA Social Administration, Development Studies, Community Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, or any other related. At least 2 years work experience in community/ social work particularly on OVC and/ or HIVAIDS donor funded projects; S/he should have demonstrated ability to manage community volunteers and experience in working with rural communities; Ability to multitask and work under pressure to deliver results; S/he should have computer skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, data entry etc.; demonstrable good communication skills in both English and Local Language; Desirable: ability to ride Class A-Motorcycles with a valid riding permit.
