The Community Behavioural Change Communications Advisor performs the
following tasks:
Specific Tasks

• Supporting the project team and its partner NUIS in undertaking community engagement and behavioural change communication activities in the refugee and host communities in the projectors (West Nile, Uganda material for effective community behavional change, events, antennal representation of the programme

Other Duties Additional Tasks
• Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management
• Review the existing means of the NUWS community engagement and together with the NUWS, develop a behavioral change communication plan and a performance monitoring plan for the community mobilization and sensation events and activities. •Integrate refugees and host communities in the behavioral change plan, and work within and through existing refugee and host community structures (eg, Refugee
• Welfare Councils, village leader, health worker). Engage the community leadership including traditional authorities, religious leaders, local elected officials and opinion leaders, youth, and women groups within the community for planning and implementing of events and active
• Take the lead in planning and implementing all community events and activities related to community sensitization and behavioural change
• Undertake regular field visits to the Rhino, Bidibidi and invepi settements •Develop creative and community-serative information, Education and Communication

Professional experience

• Three (3) to five (5) years professional working experience in the WASH andr refugee and migration sector
• Three (3) years experience with refugee and host communities in refugee settleme on behavior change and community sensitization
• At least three (3) years of experience working with GZ or another International Development or Humanitarian Partner in the WASH and Refugee Sector •Understanding and sound experience of creating and using communication material that will lead to a buy-in of stakeholders and to an increased visibility of the program Knowledge on existing community structures, hierarchies, and genderness within refugee- and host communities in Uganda

Required qualifications, competences, and experience. Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Water andior Environmental Studies, Social Studies, Refugee Studies, Communications, or any related field.

• High degree of self-motivation and team spirt in a multi-cultural and inter-day
• Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skils with ability to motivate colleagues, partners, and community members.
• Ability to transform imagination into strong verbal, writing and design skils Ability to produce and implement communications and advocacy campaigns which lead to impactful change
• Innovative thinker who thinks outside the box. High level of flexibility and adaptability.
• Curiosity and Willingness to leam.
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills
