The East African Development Bank (EADB) was established in 1967 with the remit to provide financial and related support to its member countries, which currently are Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda. The East African Development~Bank has a country office in each of its member countries.

On behalf of the East African Development Bank, we are seeking to recruit highly a competent, motivated and professional individuals to fill the following positions: Head of Operations, Head of Finance, and Country Manager. The potential candidates should be able to integrate into the existing leadership team and demonstrate ability to deliver results.

Head of Operations
Overall Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Director General, the Head of Operations will be responsible for the coordination of the Bank’s lending activities in the region and responsible for the credit portfolio.

The job holder shall take full accountability of the overall quality, growth and performance of the Bank’s portfolio and operations department.

The job holder will be responsible for the design and implementation of credit management policies to safeguard the Bank’s lending operations. As a member of the senior leadership team, the job holder will be responsible for the provision of leadership and guidance in all matters relating to credit management, credit appraisals, monitoring and controlling the credit portfolio to ensure quality of the credit portfolio.

Key Qualifications and experience
The successful candidate must have at least ten years’ experience in project cycle management with specific competences in project appraisal and supervision in an active commercial, merchant or development banking environment or a large financial institution including at least five years’ experience at head of department level.

S/ he should have a Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Accounting, Law or any other equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized university.

The ideal job holder will be a seasoned investment or career banker who has risen through the ranks. The ideal candidate will have international experience in structuring cross-border transactions and developing public- private partnerships.

Additional Information:
The position is tenable in Kampala, Uganda and applicants must be willing to relocate outside their countries of domicile.
