Rakai Health Sciences Program is a collaborative Bio-medical research and service delivery organization. It strives to improve the quality of life of the local population through a combination of community based research, curative services and prevention strategies in the District of Rakai, South Western Uganda. It is based at the Uganda Virus Research Institute - Entebbe and Kalisizo in Rakai District.

The Program is seeking to strengthen its staffing position in order to efficiently execute its research activities. Applications are therefore invited from qualified and competent Ugandans to fill a vacant position based at RAKAI HEALTH SCIENCES PROGRAM- Kalisizo, Rakai District as indicated below:

Post: Information and Digital Media Manager-. One year contract renewable
Reporting to: Director Finance & Administration
Duty Station: Kalisizo

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Information and Digital Media Manager will be responsible for the management and maintenance of the Organization Website & Digital Social Media Platforms and would be charged with the following:

• Designing and updating the Organization website in a timely manner.
• Managing and maintaining organization social media platforms including Facebook, twitter, lnstagram, YouTube and Linkedln.
•  Presenting web/digital to diverse audiences using various strategies as well managing multiple media and information reports projects.
• Maintaining an updated gallery of images to showcase RHSP work both online and offline.
• Documenting and presenting RHSP success stories to various audiences.
• Coordination, production and editing of Rakai Health Science Program reports for public information.
• The above roles and responsibilities are not exhaustive and they may be revised from time to time given in response to the changing needs of the organization.

EDUCATION /EXPERIENCE:

•  At least 2 years management experience of Web and Digital Media.
• BA in courses related to Digital Media, Interaction Design, and information Science.
•  Experience with editing and production of reports for public information.

KEY SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES:

• Good public presentation and communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi -cultural environment.
• HTML, XHTML, CSS design, cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility, Access, MySQL, JavaScript
• Macromedia suite: Dreamweaver MX 2004, Flash, ColdFusion, Contribute
• Adobe suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, lnDesign
•  CMS, graceful degradation, unobtrusive JavaScript
• W3C Web standards, WAI, ADA & Sections 508 and 504 compliance
• Preferred-XML, AJAX, RS8, PHP, ASP, SQLserver, ActionScript, Flash rich internet applications
