ACODEV is a regional NGO that was founded in 2003 and runs integrated Community Development Programs in Public Health, Human Rights, OVC support, Livelihood and Grassroots Capacity Development programs including sub-granting for small grassroots organizations in East and now Southern Africa region.

With funding from USAID, ACODEV, in partnership with Catholic Relief Services (CRS) as the Prime, is implementing a S-year consortium Program: Sustainable Outcomes for Children and Youth (SOCY). The Program is designed to improve the health, nutrition, education and psychosocial wellbeing of orphaned and vulnerable children, as well as reduce abuse, exploitation and neglect among this population. It is expected to reach a minimum of 625,000 children and their caregivers within 101,500 households in 19 districts in central, south western and western Uganda. The program will improve outcomes for vulnerable children and youth by strengthening the systems that surround them; caregivers will have greater economic opportunities, which will increase their resilience and make them less susceptible to shocks; local government structures and C505 will be strengthened to provide services targeting the diverse needs of vulnerable children, and health and social service agencies will strengthen their coordination and referral systems to provide integrated care along the continuum of response.

SILC and Youth group formation are the key vehicles used to support the beneficiary groups. It is anticipated that for every household enrolled will have a minimum of one youth, making, approximately 100,000 Youth. 80% of these are expected to participate in SOCY Project activities. ACODEV provides Technical Assistance (TA) to the programs operations of consortium C505. It is against this background that ACODEV is looking for suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacancies below, to carryout vertical project activities, in the districts of: Central Region: Wakiso, Luwero & Hoima; Western Region: Kyenjojo, Kibaale, Sheema & Mitooma.

Job Title: Procurement & Fleet Management Officer

Key Roles and Job Requirements
Ensure the proper design and timely functioning of a service - and support~oriented procurement management system for donor grant projects, including procurement, contracting and logistical support; establishing and maintaining centralized records of all aspects associated with procurement and logistics; Managing the Procurement Cycle: procurement plans, Purchase Requests, Request for Quotat1‘ons(RFQ's), Bid Analysis Sheet (BASs), Local Purchase Order and reviewing purchase receipts, quotations, bids and proposals, and evaluations of all goods and services to ensure compliance with ACODEV and donor procurement regulations; providing recommendations on pricing, sourcing and specifications relating material, goods and services — thereby maintain an updated price catalogue for the donor programmes; implementing effective internal control of assets, stores, inventory and property management; Managing ACODEV’s fleet and ensuring drivers prepare monthly fuel liquidation reports; ensuring that all automobiles are insured and kept in good order.

Job Requirements:
A bachelor’ degree Procurement & Logistics Management, Business Administration, Operations Management; a minimum of 2 years of practical experience; excellent level of computer literacy and knowledge of stores and fleet management.
