Position Summary: As a QHSE Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our operations maintain the highest standards of quality, health, safety, and environmental compliance. This key leadership position requires a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in developing and implementing QHSE policies and procedures in an operational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. QHSE Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive QHSE strategy aligned with company objectives.
- Continuously assess and improve QHSE performance through effective risk management.
2. Policy and Procedure Development:
- Establish and enforce QHSE policies and procedures to comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Ensure communication and understanding of QHSE guidelines throughout the organization.
3. Training and Awareness:
- Conduct regular training sessions to enhance employee awareness and competence in QHSE matters.
- Foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across all levels of the organization.
4. Incident Investigation and Reporting:
- Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses, providing comprehensive reports and recommendations.
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans to mitigate risks.
5. Compliance Monitoring:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with local, regional, and international QHSE regulations.
- Stay abreast of industry developments and best practices to proactively address emerging issues.
6. Auditing and Inspection:
- Conduct regular internal and external audits to assess QHSE performance.
- Collaborate with regulatory authorities and third-party auditors to ensure compliance.
7. Emergency Response Planning:
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans to address potential incidents promptly and efficiently.
- Conduct regular drills and simulations to test the effectiveness of emergency procedures.
8. QHSE Reporting:
- Prepare and submit detailed QHSE reports to management and regulatory authorities, ensuring all reporting requirements are met.
- Compile data on QHSE metrics and trends, and provide insights for continuous improvement.
- Ensure timely reporting of incidents, safety performance, and compliance issues, including weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. Business Administration, Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety).
- Proven experience in a similar role within the Oil & Gas, Construction and Manufacturing industry
- In-depth knowledge of QHSE regulations and best practices.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Certification in relevant QHSE standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) is an added advantage
