Lutheran World Federation (LWF) Uganda is part of the Lutheran World Federation Department for World Service (LWF-DWS), an international humanitarian and development agency. LWF World Service partners include Lutheran Churches and their related agencies, the European commission (ECHO), the US Government (BPRM), UNHCR, IOM, UNICEF, UNFPA among others, with whom LWF World Service is a key implementing partner. LWF-Uganda currently supports Congolese and South-Sudanese refugees living in settlements in the districts of Kamwenge, Adjumani, Moyo, Kyangwali and Lamwo respectively with access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene services, community services, protection,’ psychosocial support, livelihoods and environmental conservation.
The LWF Uganda is looking for mature, qualified and experienced persons for the following position:
Job Title: Communications Officer
Place of Assignment: Kampala Head Office
Report to: PMER Manager
Job Summary: The Communications Officer will support the implementation of LWF Uganda’s communication strategy which involves proactive media engagement and managing external communication via newsletter, journals and all other publications. The role also requires the development of qualitative audiovisual and other communication materials..

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree preferably in Mass Communication, Journalism, Media Studies)
• At least 2 years of experience in communication or related field in a company, NGO or government agency.
• Experience in PR / media management
• Ability to develop compelling stones with superior written, oral and visual communications skills.
• Ability to write and present clearly and persuasively in English.
• Proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of graphic designing softwares like CorelDraw and Photoshop will be an advantage.
