PROJECT:

The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development with support from the International Growth Centre holds an annual Economic Growth Forum (EGF). The purpose of the EGF is to identify policy solutions to growth obstacles in Uganda by bringing together stakeholders from government, the private sector, academia and civil society.

The key output of the EGF is a set of sector-specífic policy actions agreed upon by stakeholders that feed into the budget process.

An insight from four EGFs conducted between 2017 and 2020 is that the implementation of policy actions resulting from the forum could be improved and needs to be tracked thoroughly.

Identifying bottlenecks to policy implementation will allow the government to leverage the consensus established among stakeholders through the EGF and strengthen the transition from policy formulation to implementation for accelerated economic growth and a rapid recovery from the ramifications of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development is therefore recruiting for the following technical role:

Duties and responsibilities

2. Track and monitor the implementation of EGF policy recommendations.

Activities here will include, but not be limited to:

a. Reviewing, summarizing and verifying information detailed in government documents such as Budget Framework Papers, the work plans of line ministries, the Public Investment Plans, the Annual Budget Performance Reports and other documents. The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development may make available confidential documentation for the purposes of this project.
