JOB DETAILS:
The Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) is a limited liability company incorporated in Uganda under the Companies Act. UEDCL owns the 33KV and below voltage i electricity distribution network and all the operational assets associated with the business currently leased to Umeme Ltd. The company monitors Umeme Ltd's investment, generation, and distribution of power in eight territories covering over 67 Districts, operation of the pole plant at Lugogo, and execution of some rural electrification schemes on behalf of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The Company is seeking to recruit qualified, competent and highly motivated Ugandans for the following roles: .

Job Purpose: Works closely with the Legal department and GIS engineers to protect UEDCL Assets by Opening boundaries, survey power lines, makes drawings and advises the company on Land matters.
Principal accountabilities
• Plans, organizes, and directs work of one or more survey parties engaged in surveying earth’s surface to determine precise location and measurements of points, elevations, lines, areas, and contours for construction, mapmaking, land division, titles.
• Researches previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data needed for surveys.
• Develops new data from photogrammetric records.
• Determines methods and procedures for establishing or re-establishing survey control.
• Keeps accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed.
• Coordinates findings with work of engineering and architectural personnel, clients, and others concerned with project.
• Production of survey maps/drawings and structure drawings

Job Qualifications:
• Relevant Degree in Land surveying, Geo Survey, or Land Information Science from a reputable Tertiary Institution.
• 5 Years Minimum Experience in Similar role
• Adequate Experience in GIS systems and any other CAD packages is required.
• A Members of Institution of surveyors of Uganda
