JOB DETAILS:
The Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) is a limited liability company incorporated in Uganda under the Companies Act. UEDCL owns the 33KV and below voltage i electricity distribution network and all the operational assets associated with the business currently leased to Umeme Ltd. The company monitors Umeme Ltd's investment, generation, and distribution of power in eight territories covering over 67 Districts, operation of the pole plant at Lugogo, and execution of some rural electrification schemes on behalf of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The Company is seeking to recruit qualified, competent and highly motivated Ugandans for the following roles: .

Job Responsibilities:
• Job Purpose:
Carry out assessment of Distribution System Investments Plans submitted by the Concessionaire and advise Management accordingly;
Liaise with the Regulator to carry out monitoring and evaluation of investments subsequently implemented by Concessionaire hence recommend those that can be approved to earn Return on Investments (ROI) as provided for in the Electricity (Transmission and Distribution) Investment Approval and Verification Guidelines
• Principal accountabilities
• Liaise with Concessionaire and Regulator to track the implementation of approved investment plan; carry out continuous monitoring and evaluation of added investments; report on their progress, completeness, and value-addition to the system, either on a Quarterly basis, or as and when requested by Management;
• Carry out monitoring and evaluation of other grid-extension projects, e.g. as implemented by Rural Electrification Agency (REA), hence assess and report on their impact on the Distribution System;
• Liaise with Planning Engineer/Team to analyse investment plans of Concessionaire hence report on key issues arising out of the proposed plans, and propose amendments as necessary;
• Assist in compilation of monthly and annual reports on Unit activities in accordance with UEDCL policies and procedures.
