LWF-Uganda currently supports Congolese and South-Sudanese refugees living in settlements in the districts of Kamwenge, Adjumani, Moyo, Kyangwali and Lamwo respectively with access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene services, community services, protection,’ psychosocial support, livelihoods and environmental conservation.
The LWF Uganda is looking for mature, qualified and experienced persons for the following position:
Job Title: WASH Technical Advisor
Place of Assignment: Kampala Head Office
Report to: Programs Coordinator
Job Summary: The WASH Technical Advisor provides strategic and technical support in the design, implementation and monitoring of LWF’s WASH programme in Uganda. This will involve contextual analysis, WASH sector assessments, planning, internal and external coordination representation, supporting the implementation/follow-up of LWF's WASH programme in Uganda, and integrating WASH into multi-sectoral programming (with gender, protection and emergency food security and livelihoods). The role will influence strategic decision-making within the WASH programme in line with LWF's overall strategy for Uganda..

Required qualifications, skills and experience:
• BSc in Water/Environmental Engineering or Civil Engineering or Hydrology/ Geology
• Master’s Degree is an added advantage.
• 5 years’ experience in relief work with an NGO managing and coordinating WASH projects.
• Experience of the humanitarian sector in an emergency context. Project Management experience.
• Computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Excellent proposal and report writing skills.
• Experience with output/ outcome-based working beyond activity-level and are able to adjust programming to reach the desired impact.
• Proven experience with approaches, like CLTS and Behavior Change Communication;
• Very strong interpersonal, cross cultural and teamwork skills with the ability to work with different stakeholders
• Willing to travel within Uganda, in refugee settlements.
• Well-organized, self-motivated and able to work in a team
• Effective in written and verbal communication in English
