JOB DETAILS:
Main Purpose of the Job
Coordinate and ensure the branch operations are run smoothly in accordance with the Bank’s policies and procedures by all branch staff and maintain positive customer relationships and ensure excellence service is given at all service points to customers in a timely manner.
"Comply with AML/CFT/CPF policies and procedures, non-compliance of which shall be addressed as per the bank disciplinary processes"

Duties and Responsibilities
• To deputize the Branch Manager administratively and assume overall responsibility for branch accounting operations and financial reporting at all times.
• 100% compliance to Tropical Bank`s Policies & Procedures.
• Ensure that all books of accounts are properly prepared and reconciled promptly and that accounting policies and procedures are strictly followed.
• Carry out and enforce activities that enhance and promote good public relations and image by giving excellent and efficient services to customers in the branch by staff at all times.
• Verify postings and signatures on withdrawal vouchers/payments and authorize withdrawals and payments up to the Bank`s specified approved limits.
• Countersign and verify authenticity of all expense vouchers in the branch before forwarding them to the branch manager.
• Batch proof / Call back, balance and reconcile all the Branch`s books of accounts and work posted to deter frauds in accordance to the Bank’s policies and Procedures.
• Together with the branch manager ensue proper cash Management within the branch and maintenance of sufficient cash reserves within approved limits for daily transactions.
• Ensure Implementation and adherence to all Tropical Bank policies, procedures, regulations and management circulars issued from time to time, by all Branch staff.
• Verify and approve all new accounts opened in line with know your customer policy.
• Cross sell all Tropical Bank`s products and participate in new product marketing and sales to grow business.
• Ensure Branch Risk Registers and KRIs are up to date and event/loss incidents are maintained/reported as per stipulated timelines.
• Ensure clean desk policy: the banking hall is neat and tidy at all times
• Ensure that Top 50 Depositors, Politically Exposed Persons and High-Risk Accounts are KYC Compliant.
• Support business growth through good relationship management, excellent customer experience to boost liabilities and asset base.
• Grow the branch Non funded income through trade finance, treasury and operational incomes.
• Train , mentor and coach staff to build capacity and align them to the bank strategy.
• Have a well detailed documented succession plan for business continuity in the Branch operations.
• Ensure the customer KYC is updated as per the regulatory requirement
• Handling and Management of Agency Notices as per Bank procedures and URA regulations per Bank Policy and Procedures.
• Manage and monitor branch costs and ensure that they are within the approved budget.
• Together with the branch manager, assess credit requests in conjunction with the credit department in line with the banks credit standards, policies, procedures and practices and recommend action to the credit department and committee.
• Build a motivated and high-performance team through managing staff performance, and development in line with the set key performance indicators.
• Proactively lead customer relationship management at the Branch, improve customer service and retention in order to ensure that the Bank mines maximum value from all its customers.
• Ensure that Tropical Bank`s core values and professional ethics are adhered to and practiced in the branch by all branch staff.
• Together with the branch manager assess and plan the security of the branch including ensuring guards are deployed and electronic devices activated and duly armed.
• Responsible for Keys and Combination management at the Branch through dual control.
• Ensure timely closure of Compliance,Audit,Risk ,BOU and Supervision findings as per stipulated timelines.
• Ensure to coordinate the Branch to do daily E-archiving,updating of the Branch folders and all the bank’s records are properly kept
• Ensure to accurately prepare and submit all Reports as per stipulated timelines.
• Ensure that all devices are turned off and the branch safely locked when the bank is not operational.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
• Responsible for controlling Branch Financial Losses & wastages as per the targets as will be set from time to time
• Monitor all overdrawn accounts and follow up customers to normalize the accounts as per Bank Policy and Procedures
• Maintain up to date keys register and ensure that dual control is exercised in the handling of prime keys and access control per Bank Policy and Procedures • Handle Vault Custodian/Supervision as per Bank Policy and Procedures
• Ensure that all the branch registers are up to date.
• 100% collection of revenue income to mitigate revenue leakage.
• Ensure that the Branch Fixed assets are properly kept and fixed asset register is up to date
• Cascade the Bank’s policies and procedures to all Branch staff through holding trainings.

Qualifications
• A Business degree in finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, management or any relevant field.
• Possession of a Certified banking qualification

Person Specifications, Experience
• Risk/Controls Management,
• Critical thinking, analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Banking or similar environment of which 1 must be in an operations supervisory role.
• Must have an in-depth understanding of branch operational processes, product features & pricing.
• Excellent Customer Service Skills
Desirable Competencies.
• The ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in written form in a professional manner is deemed essential.
• Ability to build functioning working relationships across organizational, corporate, and cultural boundaries.
• Ability to demonstrate positive image and role model Tropical Bank’s values and leadership behaviours.
• Must be a person of impeccable integrity.
