CALL FOR BUSSINESS PLAN PROPOSALS FOR THE UCC/UCUSAF GRANT FOR "ENHANCING ICT ADOPTION THROUGH DIGITAL LITEARCY FOR THE WOMEN IN THE INFORMAL SECTOR
Introduction
The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC). through the Uganda Communications Universal Service Access Fund (UCUSAF), has launched a call for business plan proposals to implement key activities relating to the skilling of women to reduce the digital divide amongst women.
UCC/UCUSAF seeks to collaborate with a two (2) suitably qualified stakeholders or consortium of stakeholders with the requisite qualifications, resources, competencies, and experience to implement initiatives aimed at addressing the digital divide amongst the women.
The general objective of the project is to impart digital transversal skills to women that will enable them to harness the innovations that have been developed by government and private sector to increase efficiency and productivity in the livelihoods.
Specific Objectives
• Increase in uptake of ICTS amongst women in the urban areas and expectations of a trickle down effect to the neighboring rural parts of the districts.
• Increased sensitization and awareness on the necessity of smart phone devices, thus an anticipated increase in purchase and penetration.
• Reduction in the overall digital literacy in the district
Project Key Actions
• Train a total of at least 2.500 beneficiaries in each of the 2 Lots as specified in the details.
• Develop training content, customized in local languages, where required.
• Mentor, Monitor and follow-up trainees.
Target Group
This initiative targets women and girls with no or very basic digital literacy skills in the informal sector especially groups such as church groups, Saccos, associations, etc.
Application Timeline
The grant application is open effective 19th September-02 October 2023.
An online Pre- grant Application meeting on Teams will be held on 26th September 2023 at 2.00pm. Participants should register in advance for this meeting using the link in the detailed
