ActionAid is an international Development Agency working in over 50 countries in Africa Asia l atin America and the Caribbean. ActionAid Uganda’s mission is to achieve social Justice, gentler equality, and poverty eradication by working with people living in extreme poverty and exclusion, their communities, people’s organisations, activists, social movements and their supporters.
We’re now seeking to recruit suitably qualified, self-driven, result oriented, dynamic and competent persons willing to share with our Vision and the aspirations of our 5th Strategy to join the team in the following roles:
Post: Finance Director
Reports: Country Director
RESPONSIBLE FOR: Finance Manager, Finance & Grants Coordinator
LOCATION: HEAD OFFICE-KAMPALA
JOB ROLE: To provide strategic leadership in financial management in line with AAU and AAl strategies, policies, procedures, statutory laws and international financial standards.
Person Specifications:
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, or Business Administration (Accounting) or any other relevant qualification; Must be a member to a professional Accounting body (ACCA, CPA, AGA, ClMA etc.); A Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance and Accounting is an added advantage
Experience: At least 8-10 years of sound technical knowledge and work experience in a reputable organisation; Experience of no less than Five (5) years in a Senior Management Position; Experience of working in non-governmental Organizations is an advantage; Practical experience in using computerized financial accounting packages
