Job description
Location: Kampala, Uganda.
Contract type: 6 months internship to start Mid-June/July

The Human Resources Intern will integrate into the Lapaire Talent team and will work directly with the HR Development Specialist. You will actively participate in the growth of Lapaire’s teams by selecting the best profiles during recruitment and work on administrative tasks related to the Human Resources. You will input updates on the department’s internal HR database and help monitor absences, leaves, etc. You will also assist in the overall recruitment process, from interview setup to paperwork associated with the onboarding of new employees. Success in this role will be demonstrated by delivering high-quality and timely HR assistance under minimal supervision, helping the HR department meet daily objectives. There might be a possibility of the role becoming fulltime (permanent) after the internship period elapses, based on merit and availability of funds.

Their mission is divided into 4 parts:
Posting job offers on the different recruitment platforms

1. Follow the company's recruitment agenda as necessary
2. Gather key information about the position in order to write the job description
3. Post jobs offers on local job boards and track applications via the company’s ATS

Selecting the best profiles that match the needs of the positions
1. Search for exceptional candidates and sort applications received based on skills and qualifications required
2. Contact candidates and conduct screening interviews by phone or online
3. Analyze and evaluate candidates' responses to screening
4. Conduct interviews with selected candidates and follow-up of technical tests conducted by candidates
5. Produce concise and precise interview reports to assist in decision making
6. Coordinate appointment scheduling between management and candidates
Ensuring a smooth relationship with candidates & new hires and existing staff
1. Create interest in the company and participate in growing the employer brand
2. Inform candidates about the recruitment process, follow up on the status of applications by email or telephone
3. Engage with new hires & existing staff to foster a positive relationship between teams and managers
4. Participate actively in the Talent Department’s activities and development :

Participate in creation of the agenda and drafting the monthly newsletter & monthly LinkedIn posts
1. Setting up & attending social & networking events to promote the employer brand like Career days
2. Assists in checking overall compliance with applicable local and state laws
3. Input updates on the department’s internal HR database and help monitor absences & leave.

Any other tasks required.
Candidate profile

1. Holder of a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, and first successful experience (internship) in a Human Resources / Recruitment department: Only considering those who are in their final year of an undergraduate course or recently graduated in the last 1 year.

Competence in the necessary digital tools, good knowledge of Google Suite.
Knowledge of Ugandan Labour Law & Legislation
Personal skills to succeed in this position
