The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a public-benefit German company with worldwide operations in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development GIZ Ugande through "Sanitation for Milions($4M) Programme invites qualified Construction Engineering companies for construction of Sanitation and Hygiene facilities at 3 selected institutions Anska cluster in northern Uganda.
Eligibility criteria
The following information and documents will be required during evaluation on pass fail basis and non-compliant bids will be eliminated
Procurement-giz-uganda@giz.de starting from 19.10.2023 the date of first publication of this fender by indicating in the subject tender reference number 33443307- construction of sanitation and hygiene facilities at selected institutions in Northern Uganda".
Request for clarifications on bidding documents/specification/terme and condition of the tender.
All requests for clarifications to this tendering process shall be shared in writing and should be addressed to GIZ Ugende via email Procurement-giz-uganda@giz.de at least 5days prior to the bid submission deadline. Please indicate in the subject fender reference number 33443307- construction of sanitation and hygiene
facilities at selected institutions in Northern Uganda". Specific registered powers of attorney authorizing signatory/representative of
the firm to sign bids tenders on behalf of the firm
Current and valid income tax clearance certificate addressed to GIZ Company registration certificate, tax registration, PPDA certificate, and current valid trading Licence
Company profile including a minimum number of 10 no. permanent staff and a minimum for key employees including (a construction manager with a minimum of 10 years of experience, with 2023 ERB practicing certificate and a site manager with a minimum of 10 years of experience, include CVS) Specific previous experience in construction of sanitation and hygiene facilities at least 02 certified in one year with a good track record in Uganda and proof of completion certificate(s) must be attached.
A minimum of 3 previous local infrastructure contracts of not less then UGX 250 million in construction of public hygiene and sanitation infrastructure undertaken with an international development organisation in the past 3 years and verifiable by both copies of contract and completion certificates
If previously or currently engaged on a GIZ project e due diligence check with e particular programme(s) will be undertaken to confirm positive performance in quality and completion time.
Certified Audited Accounts for 2023, 2022 and 2021 with minimum annual turnover of UGX 1 Bilion for the past 3 years together with verifiable bank statements
A minimum of A-4 Class of Registration and subscribed for 2023 with Uganda National Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors (UNABCEC)
Bid validity period of 120 working days.
Key Staff required for the assignment.
• Registered Civil Engineer a member to professional body in Ugande as construction manager with a minimum of 10 years of experience, with 2023 ERB practicing certificate and a site manager with Bachelor of sciences in Civil Architect Engineering with minimum of 10 years of experience, include CVs Project to confirm positions
• Request for Bidding/Tendering Documents and detailed terms of reference. Interested and eligible bidders shall obtain detailed bidding tendering documents y submit your request for bidding/ tender documents by email to Bida/Offers Submission Deadline date and time.
Interested bidders should submit their bids offers electronically by Thursday, 09 November 2023 at 4.00pm (EAT) to UG Quotation@giz.de indicating in the subject the tender reference number 83445307-construction of sanitation and hygiene facilities at selected institutions in Northern Uganda"
Failure to indicate the tender reference number in the subject may disqualify your offer directly as it may fail to be received in the tender box.
Late submissions will not be accepted!
Bids submitted with GIZ staff or other GIZ emails in copy shall be rejected.
Only bids submitted to UG Quotation@giz.de are acceptable.
You should have priced BOQs in excel and PDF zip folders. Do not encrypt offers since they may be incompatible with GIZ software.
One email should be used for submitting technical proposal offer and Financial Proposal Offer.
Only file transfer feederiz.del for submission of documents exceeding the default mail size of 30 MB should be used or use two separate emails one submitting the eligibility and technical documents and second email submitting Financial Proposal Offer (Priced BOQs). Please provide password for your submission before the deadline and reference the tender number for which the password applies. Failure to provide the password will lead to automatic disqualification of your offer. Financial offer should strictly be in Uganda shillings currency.
Failure to follow the above instruction may lead your offer to be encrypted and rejected
