INVITATION TO TENDER FOR ENHANCING OF AN OPEN MACHINE LEARNING- BASED SITE IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM FOR GREEN MINI-GRIDS IN UGANDA

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a public-benefit German company with worldwide operations in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. The Ugandan government confronted a significant challenge in extending energy access to remote regions through traditional site identification methods in response, a prototype Al solution was developed, incorporating machine learning earth observation data, and other pertinent sources to identity location and type of prospective renewable energy sites. This prototype involved two aspects; the development of the front-end dashboard that can be easily used by system users and the back-end system component comprising of the application of geospatial modeling and machine learning techniques. The tool successfully completed a pilot phase in northern Uganda, affirming its potential for scaling
GIZ Uganda through FAIR Forward invites bids from competent and eigible firms to provide consultancy services to further develop a Machine Leaming-based site identification system in Uganda
The projects objective is to enhance the tools utility
The contracted service provider will deliver the work packages provided with details in the terms of reference
Eligibility criteria
The following information and documents will be required during evaluation on pass fail basis and non-complant bias will be eliminated starting tender documents by email to Emcurementin and from the date of publishing this tender by indicating in the subject tender reference number: 83460257- Enhancing an Open Machine Learning- based site identification system for green mini-grids.

Interested bidders should submit their bids offers electronically by Friday. 15 March 2024 at 4.00pm (EAT) to UG Quotation@giz.de indicating in the subject the tender reference number: 83460257-Enhancing of an Open Machine Learning-based site identification system for green mini-grids.
Registered powers of attorney authorizing signatory representative of the firm to sign bids tenders on behalf of the firm.
Current and valid Income Tax Clearance Certificate addressed to GIZ Valid Trading License
Bid validity period of 120 working days.
