ChildFund Uganda is working in over 30 districts to develop the capacities of local community-based organizations to be able to mobilize resources and implement programs that improve the wellbeing of deprived, excluded, and vulnerable children.
Contingent upon funding, will be implementing a humanitarian project in West Nile. Consequently, ChildFund Uganda seeks to recruit suitably qualified, self-driven and result-oriented candidate for the following position.

Job Summary:

The Project Finance Manager will be responsible for supporting the effective delivery of the anticipated BPRM-funded project and ensuring oversight for all matters related to financial expenditure and reporting in line with donor compliance requirements.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Remain alert and responsive to any child safeguarding risks, acquire relevant knowledge and skills that promotes strong safeguarding practices, understand the child safeguarding policy and procedures, and conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the Child Safeguarding Policy.
• Develop and manage project budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare and monitor project expenditures and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
• Maintain oversight of the project’s financial and cash flow control, book-keeping, payments
• Ensure that partners adhere to procurement documentation in full compliance with donor requirements, through developing a simplified financial guideline, organizing training, webinars, and one-to-one calls with implementing partners.
• In collaboration with the finance unit, provide support with the process of all project related payments.
• Ensure that all project partners involved adhere to the contractual procurement rules of the donor and all other financial management requirements.
• Consolidate financial reports based on information from project partners to be submitted to the donor as per the donor reporting schedule, as well as cash-flow projection, together with the project manager.
• File all financial documentation related to the project for donor reporting and for external audits.
• Prepare financial and accounting documentation for the project’s external audits, including supporting project partners with this, and provide ongoing support during the external financial audits.
• Provide training and support to project staff on financial management and accounting procedures.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks to the project.
• Perform any other professional duty as may be assigned by the supervisor

Qualification/Experience
• Master’s degree with bias in Finance and Accounting from a recognized awarding Institution plus Full professional qualification in Accountancy such as ACCA, CPA, ACIS and CPE obtained from a recognized institution and accredited by Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU). Professional training in management and administration
• Minimum of five (5) years working experience, three (3) of which must have been served at Senior Management level, preferably in a reputable Multi-donor, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO).
• Working knowledge of at least one accounting software is a requirement and practical knowledge of e-Financials, SUN Systems, QuickBooks and Navision will be an added advantage.
• Problem solving and Decision making.
• Teamwork; Focused on quality and standards, and ethics and integrity. Demonstrated ability in administration.
• Excellent communication, leadership and management skills, hands on and interactive; an assertive strategic thinker
• The candidate must adhere to the safeguarding reporting and monitoring requirements of this role.
