FINCA is looking for a dynamic person to join their team of professionals as Program Associate. Details are highlighted as follows:

Reports to: Chief Commercial Officer
Duration: 2years contract

SUMMARY
The Program Associate is responsible for day-to-day management, oversight and monitoring of refugees & Foreign born residents Business uptake of all FINCA Uganda Products and Services, managing the portfolio quality and growth and coordinating for effective service delivery across all FINCA Uganda Branches.

Key duties and responsibilities:
• Driving the execution of the detailed implementation plan for the project in accordance with the agreement between FINCA Uganda and Refugee lending funders.
• Coordinating with all staff involved in refugees & Foreign-born residents projects to ensure delivery on their tasks.
• Working with Marketing Department to develop and drive financial literacy training for FINCA Uganda in the chosen Settlements.
• Working with the Marketing team to ensure that well-thought through market materials are designed and distributed to the refugees, host communities and other stakeholders
• Working with Chief Commercial Officer and Business Development Officer to maintain internal and external partnerships to ensure that project objectives are met
• Assisting the Business Development Officer with data collection for internal and external narrative reports and tracking reports in line with project objectives log frame and indicators
• Tracking plans and overseeing monthly activities and expenditures and ensuring they are in line with project work plans and budget requirements.
• Overseeing the planning and execution of weekly refugee and Foreign Born Residents sales activities in the pilot branches.
• Working with Branch Managers and Accounts Relationship Officers to pursue common goals in developing and growing FINCA Uganda’s Refugee / Foreign born Resident business objectives.
• Making frequent field visits to track progress towards project objectives, maintaining dialogue and keeping abreast with changing priorities.
• Overseeing Financial literacy trainings of Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA) and Refugees groups.
• Ensuring that staff are regularly trained on Refugee lending processes and requirements.
• Offering support in identifying project requirements through research, feedback and interaction with beneficiaries and other key stakeholders
• Working with the different partners to develop, recommend and instil key performance metrics for efficient and relevant project tracking (milestones/deadlines/cost savings)
• Carrying out Project evaluation, gathering information in line with project objective and indictors at midline and endline and ensuring that all activities are in line with the project log frames
• Participating in creating and developing strategic business partnerships with the aim of growing FINCA Uganda’s business.
• Maintaining effective and efficient record keeping and providing documentation/reporting as required.

Competencies
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
• Experience in financial service delivery and/or refugee financing
• Donor relations experience
• Demonstrated ability to also work as a part of a team
• Ability to work under minimum supervision, take initiative and make decisions on the spot
• Ability to think out of the box; be proactive
• Strategic Thinking-ability to set goals, plan and prioritize

Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, Finance Management, and any other business related fields with strong background in Project Planning and Management
• 2 years’ experience in dealing with Refugees and foreign-born residents and working with settlement and host communities.
• Experience in working with a recognized Microfinance institution or Commercial Bank is an added advantage
