JOB DETAILS:

Duty station: Mityana/ Mubende
Contract terms: one year (Renewable)

Required qualifications and profile:
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Biostatistics or Statistics is required. In addition, the candidate must be in possession of Masters' level training in statistics, or epidemiology. Experience: At least 10 years working experience in data management and statistical analysis and at least 7 years working in a clinical or public health setting post advanced training is required.
We seek a motivated professional who is able and willing to learn quickly, has good organisational skills, able to multitask, have attention to detail with strong documentation skills.
The suitable candidate must have demonstrable ability to develop databases, and conduct statistical analysis, interpret results, quality assurance and communicate findings, both verbally and in writing, to other scientific staff, health program managers, and other health related organizations.
The candidate must also have advanced computer programming and proficiency in the application of standard and advanced statistical methods of study design and analyses using Stata, SPSS or R; advanced skills with Microsoft Office; demonstrate skills in development and modification of Mobile data capture applications and reporting using REDCap is required. The incumbent must also demonstrate the ability to work under minimum supervision and with demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team

The holder of this position will work hand in hand with the Protocol Data Manager under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, and will be responsible for the following duties:
• Oversee collection and entry of data from the clinical team.
• Design and manage the participant study tracking data base
• Participate in designing and updating electronic study CRFs
• Develop case report form completion instructions
• Provide expert technical and statistical support to the PI and participate in preparation of study progress reports ahead of meetings with PIs and funders/sponsors.
• Develop and update analysis plan for routine data being collected as well as any add on studies
• Participate in scientific writing and assist the PI, protocol team, and staff in interpreting research results to different stakeholders
• Train the study team on the appropriate completion of CRFs
• Develop a data management standard operating procedure (SOP)s
• Implement, review and update the data management SOP annually and as need arises
• Develop a computer-based system for quality control and cleaning for data
• Participate in review of non-electronic data
• Generate queries based on data collected both electronically and on hard copies
• Ensure that errors and misrepresentation of data is minimized or eliminated at all levels
• Ensure regular feedback to study staff and site management about data related problems and make suggestions to over-come them from time to time.
• Oversee data security, storage, back up and archiving procedures
• Prepare periodic reports to the PI, protocol team, IRBs, and funders/ sponsors
• Participate in packaging of research output for dissemination in different forum of stakeholders
• Maintain professional GCP/HSP accreditation and complete study specific training as required.
• Perform any duties as assigned by their superiors.
