JOB DETAILS:
Job Title: Senior Officer IT Security and Governance Senior Officer
Department: Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
Reports To: Head of ICT

Job Summary:
The IT Security and Governance Senior Officer is responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of Tropical Bank's information systems and technology infrastructure. They will develop and implement comprehensive IT security policies, procedures, and controls, while also overseeing compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. This position requires a strong technical background in IT security, governance, and risk management, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement the bank's IT security and governance strategy in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
2. Define and enforce IT security policies, standards, and procedures to protect the bank's information systems and data.
3. Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability testing to identify potential security threats and recommend appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
4. Monitor and analyze security logs, incidents, and events to detect and respond to security breaches in a timely manner.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security requirements are integrated into the design, development, and maintenance of IT systems and applications.
6. Lead the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure uninterrupted service availability.
7. Conduct security awareness training and education programs for bank staff to promote a culture of security awareness and compliance.
8. Stay updated on the latest industry trends, emerging threats, and regulatory changes related to IT security and governance.
9. Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, external auditors, regulatory bodies, and vendors to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
10. Provide regular reports and presentations to management and the board of directors on the bank's IT security posture, including key metrics, risks, and mitigation strategies.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. A relevant professional certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CRISC) is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT security and governance, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.
• In-depth knowledge of IT security frameworks, standards, and best practices (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT).
• Strong understanding of risk management principles and methodologies.

• Experience in conducting security risk assessments, vulnerability testing, and incident response.
• Proficient in network security, firewall management, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and identity/access management.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements applicable to the banking sector (e.g., PCI DSS, GDPR).
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex security concepts to a non-technical audience.
