REPORTS TO: Manager BT Services

Job Purpose
• The job holder will be responsible for providing leadership to the IT Service Monitoring Team and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the team. The IT Service monitoring team (Network Operations Centre) monitors the status of all IT services provided by the bank and ensuring the proper functioning of all systems.

Key Responsibilities /Key Deliverables
• Manage a Network Operations Centre (NOC) of the bank.
• Supervise the activities of the IT Services Monitoring team to ensure the team can perform its responsibilities effectively.
• Develop and maintain processes and procedures for monitoring IT services and responding to alerts and outages.
• Ensure the team can provide timely and accurate reporting on the status of all IT services.
• Work closely with other IT teams to resolve any issues identified by the IT Services Monitoring team.
• Monitor all bank systems’ uptime and performance through monitoring tools, alerts, dashboards etc.
• Development of technical documents including Standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guides.
• Actively collaborate with other Business functions to understand their pain areas and come up with improvement plan.
• Ensure the team has access to necessary tools and resources to perform their duties effectively.
• Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure the IT Services Monitoring team can effectively perform its responsibilities.
• Facilitate timely and accurate communications of the IT Service status.

Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Required
• Bachelors in IT, Computer Science, Sofware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, and any other related fields.
• Certification in an IT related course is of added advantage.
• Practical training in IT related short courses.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the IT department in a busy organization.
• Experience in setting up monitoring infrastructure/services.
• Knowledge in Unix/Linux operating systems
• Knowledge in SQL, and DBMs (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL etc.
• Experience in networks
• Programming experience.
• Ability to trouble shoot and solve user problems.
• Scripting knowledge
