Post: Tractor Driver - Makerere University Agricultural Research Institute Kabanyolo (MUARIK)

Reporting To Head of Department/Unit

Key, Duties and Responsibilities
1. Transport building materials to site
2. Transport debris from building site
3. Harness mower and mow grass
4. Maintains records and prepares reports on vehicle use, mileage, destination, accidents, gas and other vehicle expenses such as fuel, repairs; etc
5. Performs related duties such as loading and unloading furniture, equipment and supplies
6. Calibrates cultivation equipment in the field, and spays crops with chemicals
7. Operates tractor in cultivating and plowing land, planting and harvesting crops and in performing related work
8. Discusses work schedules with the farm manager
9. Perform routine maintenance on tractor and equipment such as lubricating, fueling,
10. cleaning and checking tire pressure, battery, oil, water and coolant levels

Required Qualifications O’level certificate
Valid driving permit – Class -H
Experience Minimum of three (3) years previous driving experience
Skills/Competences
i. integrity
ii. Good time keeping
iii. Ability to follow instructions
iv. Practical skills
Tenure of Appointment 4-year Contract
Age Limit APPLICANTS SHOULD NOT EXCEED FIFTY-FIVE (55) YEARS OF AGE AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION.
