JOB DETAILS:
Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in either Mass Communication (Public Relations option); or Journalism; or any other related field plus a Master’s Degree in either Journalism or Mass Communication from a recognized University /Institution.

Working Experience

Applicants should have a minimum of nine (9) years working experience in Public Relations three (3) of which should have been gained at Assistant Commissioner or Head of Department level in Government or from a reputable organization.

Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Executive Director for performing the following duties:-
• Developing the annual public relations and communications work plan and coordinate implementation in line with the approved budget;
• Developing, reviewing and updating the public relations and communications policies of the Authority as per the KCCA objectives and core values;
• Planning, monitoring and coordinating implementation of the corporate social responsibility and the corporate social investments activities of the Authority in line with the Authority Business Plan;
• Representing the Authority at local, regional and international events to identify learning points and engage Directors on the key issues identified in line with the public relations policies and procedures;
• Receiving and reviewing complaints, responding to queries and advising stakeholders and making recommendations to the Executive Director in line with the departmental policy, and guidelines;
• Managing the performance and development of staff under direct supervision in accordance with the Performance Management guidelines;
• Keeping close contact and watch media houses on publications/stories that may affect the reputation of the Authority;
• Developing and monitoring the implementation of programs aiming at promoting the Authority visibility among the public by proactively monitoring to ensure that the Authority’s events and achievements attract attention and publicity in the media.
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
