JOB DETAILS:
Makerere University Joint AIDS Program (MJAP) was established in 2004 and is registered as a privatenot-for profit Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) of Makerere University. MJAP’s mission is to build partnerships and strengthen health systems to optimally respond to HIV/AIDS, TB, Non communicable diseases (NCDs) and other diseases of public health importance in Africa.
Since 2004, MJAP has championed the implementation of comprehensive HIV and TB prevention, care and treatment programs in Ugandan districts, health facilities and communities, capacity building for interprofessional HIV service delivery; and implementation research for HIV, TB/HIV, and noncommunicable HIV related conditions.

Project overview:
MJAP was granted the PEPFAR funding Award for the USAID Local Partner Health Services in the East Central Uganda. Under this activity, MJAP supports public health facilities and their communities in 12 districts that include Bugiri, Bugweri Busia, Buyende, Iganga, Jinja, Kamuli, Kaliro, Luuka, Mayuge,
Namayingo and Namutumba; to implement quality Integrated HIV/AIDS and TB services and contribute to the attainment and sustenance of epidemic control. MJAP is looking for competent, passionate and committed individuals to fill the following position:
Position: Knowledge Management Specialist.
Supervises: None
Reporting to: Director Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning.
Location: Jinja Regional office

Role Definition:
The Knowledge Management and Communication Specialist will be responsible for overseeing implementation of the project’s Branding and Marketing Plan and designing and implementing MJAP’s knowledge management and communications action plan. S/he will be responsible for communication and documentation for the project, with the overall aim of conveying accurate and timely information about project work to various project audiences, including USAID, the Ministry of Health, district teams, and health facility management and staff, health care services beneficiaries, and the public.
