JOB DETAILS:
The mission of the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is to strengthen health systems in Africa, with a strong emphasis on infectious diseases through research and capacity development. IDI has six operational areas through which it works to achieve its mission: Prevention, Care and Treatment, Global Health Security, Training, Research, Laboratory services (including the CAPcertified IDI Core Lab) and Outreach.
Job Title : Site Team leader - E- AMAKA (4 Positions)

Reporting : Regional Team Leader
Duty Station : KOMANBOGA HC IV (KAMPALA), KIGOROBYA HC IV( HOIMA DISTRICT),
BUWAMBO (WAKISO DISTRICT) & HOIMA RRH(HOIMA DISTRICT).

  Key Responsibilities:
As a team leader key responsibilities will include;
• Oversee the scale up of Safe Male Medical Circumcision as part of quality
• Male Sexual Health services in his / her site
• Conduct safe medical circumcision surgery for adults at respective fixed or
• mobile sites.
• Ensure documentation of all surgical and follow-up procedures.
• Ensure that circumcisions are carried out safely in accordance with MoH,
• WHO and other recognized SMC policies.
• Ensure that all SMC services are conducted according to standard operating
• procedures and ethical requirements.
• Communicate professionally to different stakeholders
• Other duties as may be assigned.

  Educational requirements
• Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health
• Must be registered with the Allied Health professionals’ Council
• At least two years of post-qualification professional experience
• Formal training, certification and experience in the clinical aspects of SMC service
• delivery is preferred.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
• Ability to communicate with clients in local language
• Knowledge and understanding of SMC for HIV/AIDS prevention.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
