PEAS is recruiting a committed and experienced Child Protection Officer to ensure best practices in safeguarding are implemented across our Uganda school network.
In this role, you will champion a culture of child protection by training staff and students, raising awareness of safeguarding policies, and ensuring that concerns are reported, recorded, and addressed promptly and professionally. You’ll support school teams to build safe, inclusive learning environments and lead initiatives that promote gender equity and child participation.
You’ll also play a key role in supporting school leaders to comply with national laws and safeguarding guidelines, working in close partnership with regional and national stakeholders.
Key Requirements
- A degree in Social Sciences, Education, Gender or a related field
- Proven experience in child protection roles within schools, government or NGOs
- Strong understanding of child rights, safeguarding, and gender issues
- Skilled in delivering training and sensitisation campaigns
- Experience responding to safeguarding cases using an ethical and child-centred approach
