JOB DETAILS:
Q-Sourcing Limited trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan.
On behalf of our client, Worley Parsons Uganda, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Site Lifting Specialist to work on the EACOP (East African Crude Oil Pipeline) construction project in Uganda.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Overseeing the setup maintenance and movement of all lifting operations on site to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Coordinating and supervising all lifting activities in accordance with regulations and is required to be present during all lifting operations
• Verify competence of lifting personnel
• Participate in the JRAs for critical lifting operations
• Perform, or makes perform by a competent person, prior to the beginning of each working shift or when critical lifts are being carried out.
• Develop and keep up to date specific site lifting procedures.
• Advise the Project Owner upon mitigation measures to be put in place for reducing lifting operation risk.
• Assist the lifting expert during assessment of personnel competence to carry out lifting Operations.
• Coaches and mentors onsite personnel involved in lifting operations.
• Carryout post job de-briefs if any learning points.
• Do periodic audits and reviews of non-critical and critical lifting plans.
• Organize periodic internal audits for project equipment in collaboration with Maintenance and Inspection team
• Be the focal point of authority for the safety and technical aspects of the lifting operations.

Qualifications and experience
• Minimum 10 years in the lifting industry at supervisory level
• Technical Engineer and/or industry related qualifications such as LEEA/OPTIO/EAL/CPA etc
• Broad and extensive knowledge in lifting equipment & operations.
• Working to International standards such as BS, LOLER etc.
• Experienced in Oil & Gas Industry – an added advantage.
• Worked in onshore & offshore operations.
• Have working profile such as Slinger/Rigger* Slinger/Rigger Foreman* Slinger/Rigging Supervisor* Lifting Supervisor* Lifting Superintendent
• Risk assessment in relation to health, safety & environment
• Supervision of critical lifts
• Planning of critical and non-critical lifts
• Experience in training and coaching is required
• Ability to pay attention to detail especially with risky lifts.
• Ability to work in a multi- cultural business environment.
• Required to systematically and mechanically inclined, in order to use and operate lifting equipment.
• Ability to work under pressure.
