JOB DETAILS:
IntraHealth International (www.intrahealth.org) in collaboration with the District Service Commissions of Mbale, Moroto, Kaabong, Abirn, Nakapiripirit and Kotido are currently seeking to recruit candidates for a USAID Activity. USAID Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services in Eastern Uganda (RHITES-E) will support the Government of Uganda (GOU) and key stakeholders to increase availability and utilization of high quality health services in 23 districts in Eastern Uganda and 2 in Karamoja. This will be done by strengthening health systems and improving the quality of, access to, and demand for health services with attention to equity and underserved populations.

Biomedical Engineering Technician (1, Mbale RRH)

Job purpose; You test and repair medical equipment and entire that equipment are well maintained. properly configured, and safely functional

Key Job deliverables;

  • Medical equipment well maintained
  • Orders managed
  • Regional workshop activities coordinated
  • Medical Equipment properly configured

Job Duties and Responsibilities;

  • Maintaining biomedical equipment (establishing, adjusting, calibrating, testing)
  • Conducting tests; ensuring compliance to codes; following manufacturer's instructions; trouble
  • shooting and repairing; calling for special service; maintaining equipment inventories; completing test records; equipment sterilization
  • Adjusting; calibrating; testing and documenting equipment performance
  • Writing, reviewing and executing test procedures; documenting test results (records)
  • Maintains biomedical equipment supplies inventory; anticipating needs; managing orders
  • Maintains client confidentiality
  • Designing and implementing Quality Improvement Projects
  • Maintain a safe and organized workshop
  • Performing any other related project work as assigned by the supervisor

Job Requirements; A minimum of a diploma in biomedical engineering or its equivalent, must be committed to learning new skills and keeping up with rapidly changing biomedical engineering technology, must be detail-oriented with strong problem-solving ability, good computer skills and data entry skills.
