Ruharo Mission Hospital is a "Private Not for Profit [PNFP)” institution, founded by Ankole Diocese. based on Christian principles and part of the Ministry of Christ's Church.
In its operations, the Hospital is committed to and implements the National Health policies of the Republic of Uganda, the District Health Policies and other international Health Policies and Protocols operational in Uganda, which do not contradict Christian Principles and Code of Ethics.
Job Title: Medical Superintendent

Reports to: Chairperson Board of Governors
Job Summary and Purpose
The Medical superintendent is responsible for overall provision of strategic leadership and management to the Hospital implementing Hospital plans and policies and ensuring smooth functioning of the Hospital. The applicant will be expected:
• To provide leadership of the Hospital Management to provide comprehensive curative, Preventative and Rehabilitative Health in the Hospital and Community.
• To provide strategic leadership and management to the Hospital implementing Hospital plans and policies anti ensuring smooth functioning of the entire Hospital
• To supervise the everyday operations of the hospital, focusing on proper staffing and proper management of finances .

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must be registered medical practitioners with a minimum of MBCHB and a postgraduate degree in any of the following fields: Obstetrics anti Gynecology, Surgery, Pediatrics, internal Medicine.
Additional training in Health Administration and Management. Public Health. Organizational Management. Human Resource management or any other closely related field is an added advantage.

Working Experience
• A Minimum of two (2) years working experience as a Medical officer in a reputable health related institution.
• Management experience in working with hospitals is an added advantage

Supervises:
All members of the Hospital Management Team, all medical personnel in the Hospital and all allied Health professionals


Duties & Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities for the position include:
• Ensuring that the Hospital supports the Clinical Work with sound financial investments, adequate staffing patterns, and strict adherence to policies and procedures.
• Implementing and facilitating channels of communication within the medical and nonmedical staff to ensure that the Hospital delivers high-quality medical services In a harmonious manner, following a team approach reflecting the compassion of and a commitment to the Christian faith.
• Managing the strategic and day - to day operations of the entire Hospital - clinical and managerial
Main Clinical Duties and Responsibilities:
• Has overall responsibility for delivery of quality Primary and Secondary Health Care.
• Ensures and for leads teams to conduct needs assessments and clinical studies and surveys as appropriate and with adherence to national and International clinical ethics.
• Ensures that clinical cases that require treatment beyond the hospital's capacity are referred to a higher service in a timely and professional fashion
• Chairs monthly meetings of the Hospital Management Team IHMTI.
• Together with the pharmacy head of department, holds the final authority for quantifying pharmaceutical needs and ordering all medical drugs and consumables within the approved budget and procedures.
• Represents and manages the relationship and communication between the Hospital and District Local Government, Department, and National Health Authorities and with Local and International Donors.
• Promotes the use and internal consumption of collected data within the facility to inform decisions impacting Patient Care, Financial Management, and clinical outcomes.
