JOB DETAILS:
Job Title: Research Officer – Quality Assurance
Responsible to: Director Research and Development
Responsible for: Senior Quality Assurance Officer
Salary Scale EB 3L
Purpose of the Job
To head the Division of Quality Assurance and as such develop, maintain and continuously improve service quality standards for the Board by establishing effective Quality Assurance protocols in compliance with the national and international standards to attain maximum stakeholder satisfaction. .

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Developing strategies and processes such that total quality management is promoted throughout the Board.
• Directing and controlling the staff of the quality division to ensure that they are well motivated and receive all necessary training and development to enable them to carry out their responsibilities to the required standards.
• Developing processes and procedures to ensure that there is continuous improvement in all Board operations and that waste is kept to a minimum.
• Act as the Board’s expert on quality management and provide any necessary training and advice to managers and staff to ensure that they pursue the objectives of total quality management and continuous improvement.
• Develop quality targets and measures for all Board’s operations and monitor the performance of the Board against the set targets and measures.
• Provide advice and guidance to the Board, its managers and staff on any regulatory aspects of total quality management.
• Undertake all necessary research to keep abreast of developments in the fields of total quality management and continuous improvement to ensure that the Board maintains its competitive position.
• Preparing and managing the budget necessary to perform the Quality Assurance functions of the Board.
• Supervising staff in the section, conducting staff performance appraisals and making appropriate recommendations.

Academic/Professional Qualifications
• Hons Bachelor’s degree in either education or Arts {Sciences with a post graduate diploma in education or Project Planning and Management or Hons degree in either a Management Science or Project Planning and Management or a Quality Management related field.
• Masters’ degree in Educational Management or Organizational Development [OD] or management studies plus special training in Total Quality Management [TQM] or Project Planning and Management or a Quality Management related field.

Work Experience
Minimum of nine 9 years’ experience of working with quality management systems or related work in reputable institution[s} three of which should have been at the level of senior officer coordinating and or managing organizational [institutional quality assurance systems
