JOB DETAILS:
Kakira Sugar Limited is a leading sugar manufacturer in Uganda. KSL boasts of 2 (two) sugar estates, one in Kakira- Jinja and the other in Kayunga. We seek to recruit dynamic, experienced and competent candidates to fill various vacant positions in the company.
Job Title: Deputy Manager - Outgrowers 01 past

Reporting to Manager - Outgrowers and;

Will be responsible for:
• Assisting the Outgrowers Manager to plan and monitor the cane registration of sugarcane by Outgrowers farmers in order to achieve the set target of cane supply to the factory.
• Following up on cane sampling and pre- harvesting maturity surveys.
• Assisting the Outgrowers Manager to regulate and issue cane harvesting permits to meet the set target.
• Assisting the outgrowers Manager to plan and regulate the registration and operation of cane transport vehicles.
• Checking on the activities of the field staff through joint field visits and conduct random checks.
• Following up on crop management and cane supply.
• Processing farmer's files for advances for cane harvesting and final payment,
• Participating in farmers group meetings and field demonstrations.
• Liaising with other sections/Departments of KSW to ensure smooth functioning of the section activities.
• Liaising with outgrowers farmers’ association to promote and maintain good relationships with the company.
• Ensuring that the general register of all Outgrowers fields is accurately maintained.
• Ensuring that the cane inventory is accurately maintained.
• Preparing sectional reports and relevant statistics to keep the Outgrowers Manager informed about the activities of the section.
• Performing any other duties as maybe assigned by the Outgrowers Manager/Management from time to time.

Qualifications:
• Applicants must be holders of A degree in Agriculture plus a post graduate training in relevant field.

Experience:
Applicants must have at least eight (8) years' experience in agricultural practices three (3) years of which should be a Superintendent in a big organization.
