Job summary
The Head of Talent is responsible for designing and driving strategies that attract, develop, engage, and retain top talent. This role provides strategic leadership for talent acquisition, learning and development, talent management, and succession planning, ensuring a robust leadership pipeline and a skilled, future-ready workforce. By aligning talent strategies with business objectives, the Head of Talent plays a pivotal role in building organizational capability and fostering a high-performance culture
Key Responsibilities
Talent Management Strategy
- Develop and implement a comprehensive talent management strategy aligned with business goals.
- Lead talent reviews, succession planning, and high-potential identification processes.
- Partner with business leaders to identify and address capability gaps and future talent needs.
- Track and report on key talent metrics to monitor effectiveness and guide decision-making
Learning & Development
- Design, deliver, and evaluate learning programs that support business performance, leadership development, and employee growth.
- Oversee onboarding, functional training, and leadership development programs.
- Implement learning technologies and digital platforms to enhance learning access and impact.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and development across the organization.
Career Development & Employee Growth
- Support individual and team development through coaching frameworks, career pathways, and development plans.
- Champion internal mobility and career progression opportunities within the organization.
- Guide managers in creating effective development plans for their teams.
Leadership Development
- Develop and manage programs for leadership development at all levels.
- Support leadership capability building, including emotional intelligence, change leadership, and strategic thinking.
- Identify and engage external partners and facilitators where necessary.
Culture & Engagement Support
- Collaborate with the Culture team to align talent and learning programs with cultural priorities.
- Embed Bank behaviors into all learning and talent processes.
- Support engagement survey follow-up actions related to career growth and development.
- Manage L&D spend within approved budget
Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, Business Administration or related field.
- A postGraduate Degree in Human Resources or certification is an added advantage.
- A minimum of 7 years’ working experience in Learning and Development, preferably in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Proven experience designing and implementing talent and learning strategies.
- Experience with performance management, leadership development, and learning systems/technologies.
- Deep understanding of talent life cycles, learning methodologies, and adult learning principles.
- Stakeholder management and influencing skills across multiple levels.
- Excellent facilitation, coaching, and communication skills
- A good command of Microsoft packages.
- Ability to design training materials, organize and deliver training sessions.
- Knowledge and experience in budgeting and drawing up training needs assessment.
- Strong analytical skills to identify performance improvement opportunities and gaps, conduct analyses, and develop solutions that will deliver the desired results through training programs.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and time management skills.
- Strategic thinking, Excellent planning, organizing and coordinating skills.
- Ability to initiate new ideas and practices and to carry them forward.
- Good understanding of the HR policies and procedures and the ability to interpret them to employees.
