Description

Ruko Establishments Milk Factory is hiring Factory Floor Staff (10) responsible for supporting daily factory operations through loading and offloading goods, packing, sealing, and organizing finished dairy products for dispatch. The role ensures that all products are handled safely, hygienically, and efficiently to maintain smooth production flow. This position plays a key role in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness on the factory floor while assisting machine operators and supervisors in achieving production targets.

Duty Station: Kiruhura, Uganda

Reports to: Machine Operator

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Loading and Offloading: Safely load and offload milk products, raw materials, and packaging materials from delivery and distribution trucks.
  • Packing and Sealing: Pack, seal, and label finished products in accordance with factory standards and quality requirements.
  • Material Handling: Move goods within the factory using manual handling equipment or trolleys to designated storage or processing areas.

  • Quality and Hygiene Compliance: Ensure that all products are packed under clean, safe, and hygienic conditions to prevent contamination.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain simple records of goods received, packed, and dispatched.
  • Workplace Cleanliness: Keep the factory floor clean, organized, and free from obstructions in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Team Support: Cooperate with other factory staff and follow instructions from the machine operator or production supervisor to meet daily production goals.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety rules, wear required protective gear (PPE), and promptly report any incidents or unsafe conditions.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

  • Minimum Education: Uganda Certificate of Education (O’Level).
  • Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a dairy or food manufacturing environment, particularly in packing, loading, offloading, or warehouse operations.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Ability to lift and move goods safely.
  • Attention to detail when sealing and labeling products.
  • Commitment to hygiene, safety, and teamwork.
  • Basic understanding of workplace safety and cleanliness.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Efficiency of Loading/Offloading Operations – timeliness and accuracy in handling goods.
  • Packing Quality – correct sealing, labeling, and product presentation.
  • Product Handling Safety – zero product damage or contamination incidents.
  • Workplace Hygiene – cleanliness and organization of work area.
  • Team Cooperation – responsiveness to machine operators and supervisors.
  • Attendance and Punctuality – consistent availability during scheduled shifts.
