Our client is a Turkey-based company and regional leader in trading and distributing chemical raw materials, with established offices in Germany, Russia, China, and India. We are now expanding into East Africa, targeting Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania to meet growing demand for agro-chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food, detergent and cosmetics, textiles, and industrial chemicals. Responsibilities
- Identify and engage potential customers across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania in manufacturing, agricultural, pharmaceutical, food, detergent, cosmetics, and trading sectors.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary representative in East Africa.
- Generate RFQs and drive proforma-based sales.
- Conduct market research to identify opportunities, competitors, and import regulations.
- Collaborate with the global team for pricing, quotations, supply chain coordination, and strategic planning.
- Provide, through written reports, an ongoing position at each account or potential account in the sales territory and actions planned.
- Ensure effective communication and prepare reports on new business projects / opportunities of assigned market segment on regular and ad-hoc basis.
- Identify and develop new market through new applications in line with corporate Marketing strategy.
- Manage all aspects of account interface including complaint management.
- Provide information such that company may provide new products and information for the future.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
- 5+ years of experience in chemical trading, distribution, or B2B sales in chemical raw materials
- Established network in East Africa’s manufacturing, agricultural, or trading sectors (e.g., connections with Kenya Chamber of Commerce, Uganda Manufacturers Association, or Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture).
- Proven track record in sales, negotiation, deal-closing in chemical raw material trading.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Swahili is highly preferred for regional engagement.
- Strong understanding of East African business culture and import/export regulations across Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with leadership skills, able to work independently and manage regional operations.
- Willing to travel across East Africa.
- Have a valid passport
