The Ukarimu Project, funded by GIZ under the Improving Working Conditions for Women in Uganda’s Sustainable Tourism Sector Through Enterprise Development(WE4D) programme, is expanding. We are inviting forward-thinking hotels, lodges, and tour operators across Uganda to join our Scale-Up BDS Programme.
This initiative provides practical, in-house capacity building and tailored coaching designed to integrate sustainability, gender equality, and operational excellence into the DNA of your business.

We are seeking registered tourism enterprises committed to growth, sustainability, and service excellence. This includes:
- Accommodation: Hotels, lodges, guest houses, and campsites.
- Food & Beverage: Restaurants, cafes, and catering services.
- Tour & Travel: Tour operators and travel agencies.
- Activity Providers: Community-based tourism, adventure sports, and cultural sites.
- Other Tourism-Linked Businesses: Craft centers, guide associations, and conservation-led enterprises.
