About Us
WIH Cement Uganda Limited a subsidiary of Yaobai International Holding Limited and China West Cement Limited with a Clinker Plant in Moroto & a Cement milling Plant in Buikwe District, Njeru Municipality Nyenga Subcounty. We are looking for candidates to fill the above -mentioned Positions.
WIH Cement is looking for 3 (three) Chemical Analysts to join our Quality Control team in cement & clinker manufacturing plants. The successful candidates will play a key role in ensuring the quality and consistency of raw materials, clinker, and finished cement products.
Key duties & Responsibilities include:
- Conduct routine chemical analysis of raw materials, clinker, cement, gypsum, and additives to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Perform XRF, XRD, wet chemistry, and physical tests in accordance with established laboratory procedures.
- Monitor and control raw mix proportioning and kiln feed chemistry to ensure consistent clinker quality.
- Analyze production samples and promptly communicate results to production and quality teams for corrective action.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, test reports, and quality control documentation.
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards, internal quality systems, and safety procedures.
- Calibrate, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Participate in troubleshooting quality-related production issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of laboratory chemicals and waste.
- Support audits, inspections, and quality assurance reviews as required.
Required Skills and Experience
Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as a Chemical Analyst or Quality Control Analyst in a cement or clinker manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience with cement plant laboratory operations and kiln process control.
Proven experience in raw material and finished product testing within a heavy industrial or manufacturing setup.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Other Considerations:
Able to work either in Jinja or Moroto.
i) Relevant Competencies and Skills:
ii) Strong knowledge of cement chemistry and clinker mineralogy.
iii) Proficiency in laboratory analytical techniques such as XRF, XRD, titration, and loss on ignition (LOI).
iv) High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical thinking.
v) Ability to interpret laboratory results and make practical recommendations to production teams.
vi) Good understanding of quality management systems (ISO 9001) and safety standards.
vii) Strong documentation and reporting skills.
viii) Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced industrial environment.
ix) Proficiency in MS Office and basic laboratory data systems.
