The job
We’re looking for a forward-thinking, non-traditional impact leader who can blend academic rigor with practical, community-level insights for diverse audiences. You’re curious, collaborative, and passionate about real-time, data-driven performance management that improves lives. As Chief Impact Officer, you will guide Tiko’s impact agenda, ensuring a robust measurement framework, high-quality evidence, and actionable insights that strengthen programmes and partnerships. You will foster a culture of data use across the organisation, inspiring others to turn insights into action and influence policy in Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH).

In this role, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading the refinement and delivery of Tiko’s measurement, research, and learning framework, aligned with our Theory of Change and impact goals.
  • Guiding evidence generation on programme performance, service integration, and cost-effectiveness, ensuring insights inform design and delivery.
  • Lead data innovation, predictive analytics, and governance across multi-country programmes, ensuring compliance with data standards and the ethical, inclusive use of data that safeguards participant privacy and dignity.
  • Building collaborative relationships with governments, funders, and sector stakeholders to position ASRH as a priority investment.
  • Leading Tiko’s research agenda, including evaluations, Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs), and peer-reviewed publications.
  • Representing Tiko in global health forums, technical working groups, and strategic partnerships.
  • Mentoring and supporting the Impact Team, managing the departmental budget, and promoting cross-country learning.

About you
You’re a strategic thinker and strong communicator who values collaboration, diversity, and shared success. You can translate complex evidence into clear, actionable insights and create an environment where innovation thrives. You bring both vision and practical skills, applying tools like AI, predictive modelling, and adaptive research to improve programme delivery. You’re committed to working inclusively across cultures and sectors, empowering teams to achieve meaningful, lasting impact.

Requirements

  • PhD in Public Health, Epidemiology, Data Science, Statistics, Medical Sociology, Health Economics, or related field.
  • 7+ years’ senior-level experience in data systems, research, and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • 5+ years’ experience engaging public (government) and private sectors, including direct collaboration with Ministries of Health.
  • Expertise in ASRH measurement (FP, HIV, SGBV) and cost-effectiveness analysis.
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI), including Machine Learning (ML), predictive analytics, and other statistical approaches or automated insight generation, to optimise programme delivery
  • Demonstrated experience in publishing peer-reviewed research and managing multi-country evaluations.
  • Strong understanding of data ethics, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance.
  • Skilled at managing multicultural teams and building partnerships across countries.
