JOB DETAILS:

Job Summary

The Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe school environment. The role involves cleaning classrooms, offices, washrooms, and common areas, ensuring the school premises are well maintained and conducive to learning.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning & Hygiene

• Clean classrooms, offices, corridors, washrooms, and other school facilities.
• Sweep, mop, dust, and disinfect surfaces regularly.
• Empty waste bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Ensure washrooms are stocked with necessary cleaning supplies and remain hygienic throughout the day.

Facility Maintenance

• Maintain cleanliness of outdoor areas and school compound where assigned.
• Report maintenance issues or damaged facilities to the school administration.
• Assist with arranging classrooms and facilities for school activities when required.

Health & Safety

• Follow health, safety, and sanitation procedures while carrying out cleaning duties.
• Handle cleaning equipment and materials safely.
• Ensure cleaning supplies are stored securely and used responsibly.

Minimum Qualifications

• Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or equivalent is an added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and hygiene practices.

Experience

• Previous experience in a cleaning or housekeeping role, preferably in a school or institutional environment, is an added advantage.
