Background
St. Mary's Hospital Lacor a private, non-profit hospital located in Gulu City, Uganda is seeking to recruit qualified and self-motivated persons to fill the following positions.
Job Purpose
The Communication Officer will be responsible for planning, developing, and implementing communication strategies that promote the institution’s image, enhance stakeholder engagement, and ensure timely dissemination of accurate information.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement communication and publicity strategies.
- Prepare press releases, newsletters, reports, speeches, and other communication materials.
- Manage internal and external communication channels.
- Support the institution’s public relations and branding activities.
- Coordinate media relations and respond to information requests.
- Document institutional events and maintain communication records.
- Manage social media and digital communication platforms, where applicable.
- Perform any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Basic Qualification & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Public Information, International Relations, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in communication, public relations, media, or a related field.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work well with others and maintain professionalism.
