Context & Environment
The Upstream part of the Lake Albert Development in Uganda consists development of eight oil fields, six onshore fields in EA1 and EA2 North blocks (together known as ‘Tilenga’, operated by TotalEnergies) and two offshore fields in EA3 block
known as ‘Kingfisher’ operated by CNOOC. The development of Tilenga requires the drilling, in factory mode, of more than 400 wells from 31 wellpads using 3 drilling rigs. The first oil is planned for the year 2026. All producers are equipped with ESPs. The recovery mechanism is water injection, which shall start at first oil to maximize production and ensure cap rock integrity. The reservoirs are fluviatile-lacustrine sandstones with high permeability, and a wide range of viscosity across the developed area. A Polymer Injection Pre-Development Pilot will be deployed at first oil, to potentially trigger an EOR polymer flood in certain areas of Tilenga.
Activities
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate HSE leadership by consistently upholding high HSEQ standards.
- Apply fundamental reservoir engineering techniques (well test interpretation, production analysis, PVT interpretation, material balance, simulation) to interpret and validate dynamic data.
- Collaborates with well performance and field operations engineers to help maintain accurate and up-to-date production data for dynamic synthesis.
- Engages in joint activities with well performance team, developing the competencies required to provide support to the senior reservoir engineers.
- Participate in the implementation of an adequate Voidage Replacement in Tilenga project in collaboration with well performance and field operations team.
- Prepare under supervision interference test campaigns in collaboration with ‘Senior Reservoir Engineers – Monitoring’, participate in the proper execution of the program and data collection to support the Voidage Replacement groups definition and Tilenga water injection strategy.
- Support the preparation and implementation of Injection Logging Tool (ILT) campaigns for water injectors.
- Propose tracer sampling for validation by Senior team and / or ‘Reservoir Engineering and Reserves Manager’ and help keep the tracer sampling database up to date. Participate in the integration of information at field scale
- Provide the necessary support to the team with respect to the Polymer Injection Pre-Development (PIPD) and artificial tracer campaign implementation, proposing solutions to meet all the reservoir requirements in collaboration with the field operations team.
- Propose, jointly develop with geoinformation and reservoir team digital solutions to streamline the reservoir monitoring and reservoir management requirements.
- Collaborate with the Geoinformation team to manage reservoir data (in T-More), including raw, processed, and interpreted data, as well as monitoring and management dashboards.
- Participate in the implementation and monitoring of the Cap Rock Integrity plan, proposing corrective actions for validation by Senior team and / or ‘Reservoir Engineering and Reserves Manager’, interacting with the field operations team as needed.
- Collaborate on presentations of RE-monitoring activities to Partners, Authorities, and HQ.
Candidate Profile
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Reservoir or Petroleum Engineering (or equivalent)
- Minimum 6 years of experience as Reservoir Engineer. Exposure to minimum 3 years of reservoir operations in a producing affiliate, Reservoir Monitoring, Reservoir Management and Digitalization
- Open-mindedness, adaptive, ability to communicate freely, decision-making in tight timeline and confident to support his/her decision, results orientation, pragmatic;
