JOB DETAILS:

DRIVER

Job Purpose

To provide safe, reliable and professional transportation services for the school, staff, students, visitors and authorised official activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive school vehicles safely and responsibly.
• Transport staff, students, equipment and authorised passengers as assigned.
• Observe traffic laws and road-safety requirements.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips.
• Report vehicle faults and maintenance requirements promptly.
• Maintain vehicle logbooks and trip records.
• Ensure vehicles are clean and properly maintained.
• Monitor fuel consumption and report discrepancies.
• Ensure all required vehicle documentation is valid.
• Support collection and delivery of official documents and supplies.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding passengers and official activities.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and breakdowns.
• Ensure authorised use of institutional vehicles.
• Perform other transport-related duties assigned by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or equivalent.
• Valid driving permit with the appropriate class.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and road safety.
• Minimum of 3 years' driving experience with a reputable organisation.
• Clean driving record.
• Good knowledge of local routes and road conditions.
• Professional, reliable and courteous conduct.

Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 36

Level of Education: bachelor degree
