Enrolled Midwife

Job Summary
The Enrolled Midwife will provide quality maternal and newborn care, supporting women throughout pregnancy, labour, delivery, and the postnatal period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care.
  • Monitor mothers and newborns and identify potential complications.
  • Assist with safe deliveries and manage routine maternity procedures.
  • Provide immediate newborn care and support breastfeeding.
  • Monitor vital signs and maintain accurate maternity records.
  • Provide health education on pregnancy, childbirth, family planning, and newborn care.
  • Assist in emergency obstetric and neonatal care and facilitate referrals when necessary.
  • Maintain infection prevention and control standards.
  • Support mothers and families with compassionate and respectful care.
  • Work collaboratively with clinicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certificate/Diploma in Midwifery from a recognized institution.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Must be registered with the relevant professional council and hold a valid practising licence.
  • Good knowledge of maternal and newborn care.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations.

 

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
  • Must be registered with the relevant professional councils.
